Immersion in the Chiefdoms of Western Cameroon

Arrive at Yaounde Nsimalen International airport by AT – 509 at 03:50, Welcome by our guide and transfer to Merina Hotel. We start at 9h00 after breakfast by visiting the national museum (the former presidential palace) and Tsinga craft Center. We will take our lunch buffet at Casa Negra at 12:00 and at 13:45, we move to West region of Cameroon. Arrive at Batoufam at 18h00, diner at night at the traditional chiefdom of Batoufam.

Breakfast then departure to Foumban with a stop at Foumbot the former agricultural breadbasket of Cameroon. Here you can find fresh foods and local agricultural products such as a corn, beans, peanuts and sweet potatoes. continue to Foumban, with Bamoun Sultanate, architecture, mixes of local artisans are displayed for sale (you can buy souvenirs). For lunch, the famous ‘Pen Njapshe a Bamoun traditional dish made of corn fufu (Pen) and vegetable (Njapshe) will be served. Women in the region will enlighten you on this cultural and local meal. Back to Batoufam for diner and night at the traditional chiefdom of Batoufam.

After breakfast, we start our day by visiting Batoufam museum and we will have a traditional warrior dance session performed by Batoufam princes. Continue to Bandjoun. The Bandjoun chiefdom its one of the oldest and the best developed in the west Cameroon. Our second stop will be to attend the initiatic danse. Arrive in Bafoussam and drive to Zingana Hotel. Diner and night at Zingana Hotel.

Breakfast and departure to Limbé, our first stop is at Baham chieftaincy and his museum. A little walk through out some sacred of Baham’s tradition. Second stop at Ekom falls at Ekom Nkam river with the Greystoke legend. The legend of Greystoke is the place where the part

of film Tarzan has been done with French actor ‘’Christophe Lambert”. Arrival at Limbé and drive to Limbé for dinner and night.

Departure to Buea after breakfast, stop at Buea, visit the first political capital of Cameroon, we will also visit external of the German Governor General of Buea under German occupation and the German residence its now Presidential Palace and can’t be photographed. Lunch at Limbé Botanic Garden and continue to Bimbia. Bimbia is a former slave port, which still retains vestiges of the slave trade. This Bimbia village is situated on the Atlantic coast, since its discovery some years ago, the site where slaves before boarding to Nichols Island and move for unknown destination. Strong memories. Seme Beach Hotel for diner and night.

Full day beach and afternoon visit the Limbé wildlife center. Back to  Seme Beach hotel for diner and night.

Morning beach and afternoon departure to Douala. Douala it’s the second capital of Cameroon under German occupation. Diner out hotel and night at K Hotel.

After breakfast, we move to visit Douala maritime museum, General de Gaulle monument, flowers market, craft center, monument of the new reunification. Back to K Hotel.

After breakfast, departure to Songo Pongo Island to discover gorilla sanctuary and the first German church Marienberg in Cameroon, the first German bridge of Edea, continue to Kribi for diner and night at Ilomba Hotel.

After breakfast, discover Lobé waterfalls and continue to Lobé pygmy village by canoe. Lunch at Lobé waterfalls with fish, crabs. Diner and night at Ilomba Hotel

Morning beach and after lunch, we left Kribi to Douala airpot and end of stay.
