DAY 1: ECO AMAZON IN
Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, we will meet you at the airport to begin our program. We will take a short guided bus tour of the city and then head to the Capitanía Port, where you will board our boat. We will navigate the Lower Madre de Dios River to our lodge, located 30 km from the city. During the journey, you will be able to appreciate rural landscapes, heliconia plantations, and, weather permitting, local wildlife such as capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, and birds of prey.
Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing Amazonian fruit nectar and shown to your comfortable bungalow. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch in our rustic dining room. In the afternoon, our guide will lead you along an interpretive trail to Cocha Caimán, a lagoon where you can spot black and white caimans, key predators in the ecosystem. Upon returning, an exquisite dinner will await you, followed by free time to relax in our bar with board games and a wide selection of drinks. The serenity of the Amazonian night and the songs of the local wildlife will be the perfect end to your day.
DAY 02: ECO AMAZON
The songs of Amazonian birds will mark the beginning of a new day. After a revitalizing breakfast, we'll embark on a hike towards Lake Apu Víctor, traversing diverse ecosystems of the rainforest. Along the way, we'll observe fruit, forest, and medicinal trees, as well as a great diversity of wildlife, from mammals like the tapir and the giant otter, to birds like macaws and toucans.
From the Amazonian viewpoint, we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and its wildlife, including caimans, turtles, and seasonal fish. Back at the lodge, a hearty lunch awaits us.
In the afternoon, we'll visit Monkey Island, a natural sanctuary with diverse species of primates and exotic birds. The day will conclude with a spectacular sunset and a delicious dinner at the lodge.
DAY 3: ECO AMAZON
Waking up in the Amazon rainforest will be accompanied by the calls of howler monkeys and birds of paradise. After a revitalizing breakfast, we'll begin a hike to Cocha Perdida (Lost Lake), exploring well-maintained trails and crossing bridges over seasonal streams. On the trail, we'll discover fruit, forest, and medicinal trees essential to life in the forest and, with luck, spot various species of mammals, primates, birds, and reptiles. Upon arriving at Cocha Perdida (Lost Lake), we'll climb to a viewpoint to admire the immensity of the wetland and its ecosystem, a refuge for endemic fauna. Then, we'll navigate its waters in search of the majestic giant otter
Back at the lodge, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch. The afternoon will be free for photography, exploring the botanical garden, or relaxing. In the evening, a delicious dinner will conclude the day, with the option to enjoy the bar and game room.
DAY 4: ECO AMAZONIA OUT
After a restful night's sleep, the powerful call of the red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus) will remind you that you are in its natural habitat and that it's time to leave. Before returning to Puerto Maldonado, a delicious breakfast will be waiting for you in our dining room to start the day with energy.
